EUROPEAN DIMENSION IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING- PROFESSIONAL READINESS WITH 21st CENTURY SKILLS
The Evening EPAL of Rethymnon has been operating since 2008 in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Health/Welfare and Administration/Finance. It is the first time it has applied to participate in an Erasmus+ program. Based on the modern requirements of the 21st century, it must provide education that is compatible with the needs of the digital age both to its students and to pedagogically support its educational staff aiming to their empowerment.
The goals of the project are twofold. Firstly, to satisfy the need of its students to adapt to the needs of the modern labor market and to ensure that they acquire competitive skills in areas that it cannot provide. Secondly, to support its teachers in their teaching work and offer them training in adult education methods and differentiated teaching methods due to the different learning needs of its students.
The expected outcomes for both objectives are the development of professional and digital skills in their areas of expertise for both students and teachers, the exchange of best practices with their counterparts abroad, the observation of innovative teaching methods, the acquisition of social knowledge and different socio-political stimuli, the improvement of their digital knowledge, the acquisition of European citizen identity and the networking of the school in the end.
